I like to call these The Barnabas Questions:

  1. How are you?
  2. What are you celebrating?
  3. What challenges are you experiencing
  4. What do you plan to do about these challenges?
  5. How can I help you?
  6. How can I pray for you?

I introduced these six questions, originally used by Carl George, to the staff team I was working with in Mexico. I instructed them to break into pairs and spend the next half hour going through these questions together. This team had been working closely together for a long time, but this exercise brought it to a whole new level of intentionality, support, and encouragement.

It reminded me of Hebrews 10:24-25: And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
