We all have our favorite styles for learning: lecture, small group discussion, reading, hands-on experience. When we’re the ones doing the training, we need to take a balanced approach for different learners. Try orientation, clusters, individual coaching, networks, and structured teaching. All of these can help people get a better framework. From there, getting hands on experience can help them gain practical understanding, identify their gaps, and gain vocabulary for what they have been doing. Be sure to build in times to slow down for deeper reflection and insights.
