Faithful and persistentOn my recent trip to Honduras, I was impressed anew with some of the qualities I saw in their extension teachers. An extension teacher is essentially a church planter who has planted 10 churches. At that point, they become a regional extension teacher, providing oversight for the churches they have started.

Travel is difficult there, and when these extension teachers go to visit their churches in different areas, problems inevitably arise. There are rainstorms, and they are walking or traveling by horse. If they are wealthy enough to have a bike or a car, those break down. But the extension teachers keep at it, finding another way.

Observing them, these were some of the key words that came to mind:

  • focused
  • joyful sacrifice
  • faithful
  • persistent
  • prayerful

It was inspiring to watch and be a part of for the short time I stayed with them.
