Calling isn’t a once-in-a-lifetime, you-find-it-or-you-don’t kind of endeavor. At certain points, God may call us to shift gears– and that doesn’t mean we got it wrong the first time. Sometimes he uses one season of life and ministry to prepare us for the next season of life and ministry.
Considering how God has shaped you and gifted you, what ultimate contribution may he be calling you to make next? Look forward to the time when you stand before the throne of God. What is he going to ask you? What kind of response could you give that would allow you to stand before him and say you’ve done what he has asked you to do to the best of your ability?
What he is calling us to now, at a mature stage of our walk of faith, is likely something we wouldn’t have been prepared for in an earlier season. Even now, are you willing to do whatever God may call you to do? Do you have the faith to do that? Abraham was already old and established when God called him to pick up and go to the promised land. Moses was also older and living his life somewhere else when God told him to return to Egypt to lead his people to freedom.
What would it look like for you to start down the journey of being open to whatever God wants?
