A man I know was a preschool teacher for years. He had a stuffed mouse in his classroom called Mr. Whiskers. At the end of every lesson, the class discovered that Mr. Whiskers had fallen asleep and they had to tell him what he missed.
I’ve found that Mr. Whiskers sleeps through a good deal of my training sessions as well, requiring the other students to fill him in on what he missed. Mr. Whiskers provides excellent exercises in summing up and reviewing the learnings of the day.

I miss that young man. I love that his idea lives on.
