Resource Religion Census for the US

One of my coaching clients showed me this demographic resource. I wanted to share it here on my blog as it seems like it could be a helpful tool for many of my readers in the United States.

The 2010 U.S. Religion Census: Religious Congregations & Membership Study (RCMS) is a county-by-county enumeration of religious bodies in the US.

You can search by denomination or religion, and statistics are shown based on the most recent census. The many maps are a great feature, as they show religious participation by county in a way that’s easy to understand visually. I recommend taking a look around on this site and seeing how it might be helpful to you.

The coaching client who pointed this site out to me has been using it for research, goal-setting, and vision-casting in their denomination’s church planting efforts.
