I spoke at a conference earlier this week where Robert Coleman was also speaking. You may remember him as the author of the classic book The Master Plan of Evangelism. He’s 82 years old and still engaged in ministry. Here’s someone who has consistently walked with God and continues to live out the principles found in his book. There is a certain kind of spiritual authority that comes from someone who has walked with God for a long time: the blessing of faithfulness. I found myself thinking, “I want to be like that when I grow up.” It’s the little decisions you make day in and day out that have a cumulative effect to shape the character and reality of who you are.
If you want to live incarnationally and missionally, look at the model of Jesus. The Master Plan of Evangelism is a classic work that looks to the life of Jesus: It was missional before missional was a word. Well worth another look, even for those that have read it before.
