Here’s something I heard from one of the people I’m currently coaching:
If you’re standing straight on and someone pushes you, you’ll naturally go backwards. But if you were to turn sideways and someone pushes you, you’re much more stable. It’s preparation for taking a hit.
I thought it was an interesting thought, but I’m not sure exactly what it illustrates. Any ideas?
I once heard a quote that good boxers aren’t those that like to punch, but those who like to take a punch. Has seemed apropos of pastoring somehow, and this idea reminded me of it.
