This is the end result of living like Jesus did: the spread of the gospel message– the gospel shared in both word and deed. This is what Jesus told his disciples to do:
John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 15:12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
John 17:18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
John 20:21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
We are to live as SENT people… SENT by Jesus.
When we reflect Jesus to others, they will come to know him. We can serve like Jesus served and make disciples like Jesus made disciples. We can help others follow him. This was the last task left to us: the great commission.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” —Matt 19:20
