Many of us are used to thinking of ourselves as the coach. What about when we’re the one being coached? How can we maximize our use of that time? How can we open ourselves up to grow spiritually and be developed in all our gifts as much as possible?

What follows in this seven-part series are some of the central principles of coaching… from the perspective of the one receiving the coaching.

So let’s start with the number one rule of coaching:

  • the client does the work
  • the client does the work
  • the client does the work

It’s not a matter of how great your coach is. Your coach could be amazing, but if you don’t do the work, you won’t grow. The growth depends on you. It’s up to you to do all you can to maximize your own development. Start by taking responsibility for your own spiritual development.
