Sometimes the reason church multiplication doesn’t happen is because we think of church as a big entity: you have to multiply a worship service, a staff, a children’s program, etc. It’s like an elephant multiplying. It can be done, but it’s difficult and it takes a long time. The elephant’s gestation period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal.
You know what replicates easily? Mice. Their gestation period is 20 days. Plus there are usually 10-12 baby mice in a litter—as opposed to one baby elephant. Smaller organisms can replicate quite easily and quickly, and the basic DNA is at the smallest levels anyway.
So no matter what kind or size of church you currently have, think about multiplication from the grassroots up, not from the top down. By replicating the smallest parts first, you’ll have a lot more success a lot quicker.
