What will the Kingdom of God look like when it comes in all its fullness? For that we must look to the Book of Revelation: no more sin, no more brokenness, no more crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. The Kingdom of God anticipates the new creation. The removal of sin from the earth will be complete, just as complete as the removal of sin from the souls of people. Not only our souls, but our environments—both social and natural—will be restored. This will be a world where all is set right and things are as they were meant to be. Poverty, blindness, oppression, ecological destruction, and injustice will cease to exist. Instead the light of God will shine into every corner of the new creation.
22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. (Rev. 21:22-25)
Here the coming together of heaven and earth is complete. Thy Kingdom come.
Sometimes in ministry we just need to set this vision before our eyes.
