The Team
How we got started:
As a young church planter and pastor I had a vision for what has directed the rest of my life. In my vision I was standing at the seashore in southern California. I was joined by other church planters along the shore and they began to swim out to Catalina Island. I stood watching as planters began to struggle in the water and drown. I started to get angry as I saw others making it, but not coming back to help those in danger. I told the Lord at that moment that if he gave me a chance to do something about it I would. Since that day I have devoted my life to coming alongside other Christian leaders. Currently I’m focusing on grassroots movements of incarnational, missional leaders.
Meet the team:
Bob Logan and Tara Miller, members of the Logan Leadership team, have worked together since 2000 developing resources, writing books, and engaging in hands-on ministry. Keith Shields joined the team in 2010 to provide much of the coach mentoring for Logan Leadership. Dave DeVries has recently begun working with Bob on developing church planting resources.
Bob
Bob Logan has well over 30 years of ministry experience, including church planting, pastoring, consulting, coaching, and speaking. Bob has seen it all, yet remains on the cutting edge of ministry as he is currently planting an organic, missional network of churches in Los Angeles. Bob earned his D.Min from Fuller Theological Seminary. Current favorite ministries: volunteering in a recovery community, helping lead a house church gathering. And yes, that is Bob on his mountain bike!
Tara
Tara has worked with Bob since 2000, writing a wide variety of projects: books, articles, webinars, presentations, training materials, and curriculum. She has also served as a small groups pastor and has written a book on that topic as well as a set of scripture studies for small groups. Tara holds an M.A in English from the University of Colorado-Denver. Current favorite ministries: meals to sick people, volunteering at her kids’ school, hospitality.
Keith
Keith has been coached by Bob since 2006 and has worked as a coach mentor and coach trainer with Bob since 2010. Keith has been a lab scientist, a pastor, a church planter, and a singer-songwriter. He has a Bachelor of Religious Education, a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Christian Studies. Keith is community pastor at The Bridge: A Church That Connects in Vancouver, BC and he loves running, cycling, and swimming as he trains each year for Olympic distance triathlons. Keith is married to Maureen and they have three grown daughters and one grandson.
Dave
Dave experienced Bob’s mentoring firsthand when he planted a church in Southern California in 1990. Since then he’s joined OC International where he’s focused on advancing missional movements by equipping and empowering pastors and church planters to embrace missional practices and multiply disciplemakers. Dave earned his D.Min. from Bakke Graduate University. He loves training and coaching leaders, as well as writing (don’t miss his popular Missional Challenge blog). You may also find him roasting coffee, gardening, or traveling. Dave and his wife Deanne live in Bellevue, Washington and have a son and daughter.
